Fathom says it needs an iPhone Duo

Fathom reads the hinge of Apple's foldable iPhone and only plays on an iPhone Duo. Other iPhones show this message instead of the game.

It asks me to fold or turn the device

Set your Duo down like a laptop: turn it so the fold runs left to right, then stand the top half upright at about 90 degrees. Fathom plays between roughly 65 and 118 degrees, and once you're playing it tolerates small wobbles.

A ship won't move

As the rules require, ships stay put once the shooting starts. Fathom holds them in place from the first peg. Open the menu and choose New game to return every peg and free the ships.

How do I put a peg back?

Drag it onto its well, or drag it well clear of the grids. You can also tap the peg to pick it up and then tap a well. Letting go just short of a hole snaps the peg back where it was.

How do I mark a sunk ship?

Put a red peg in that ship's hole in the Enemy Fleet panel on the upright half. Only red pegs go there.

Starting over

The menu's New game returns every peg to the wells and leaves your ships where they are. Pack up also returns every ship to the tray.
